Volunteer with RHA

Applications can be submitted at any time. If there is a need for volunteers, applicants will be notified by email for an interview. Please note that due to the pandemic, we are limiting the number of volunteers we can have at one time.​

Saturday Shelter Outreach Volunteer

For clinicians and volunteers interested in coordinating street medicine outreach to local refugee shelters and providing care to 50-100 patients, depending on how many teams we can support.

On the Ground Resistencia Volunteer

For nonclinical volunteers and interns interested in assisting us during our weekday clinic. Prospective volunteers can submit their applications at any time.

On the Ground Provider Nurse

For registered nurses or licensed practical nurses specifically interested in volunteering during our weekday clinic. Spanish proficiency or an independent plan for translation services is required.

Saturday Shelter Coordinator

For volunteers interested in serving as an On-the-Ground Saturday Shelter Coordinator. This opportunity requires a 6-month commitment.

Projects and Translations Volunteer

For volunteers interested in remote opportunities to assist with administrative duties, covering our medical call line, developing curriculum, grant writing, and numerous other tasks.

On the Ground Provider Volunteer

For providers and clinical staff interested in assisting with our weekday clinic. Positions are open for psychotherapy, physical therapy, midwifery, acupuncture, and child care/education support.

Mental Health Service Volunteer

For volunteers interested in providing virtual or in-person psychosocial support services and assisting with remote mental health projects.

Full-Time On the Ground Coordinator

For volunteers interested in serving as a Full-Time Clinic Coordinator or a Summer Full-Time Clinic Coordinator. Position timeframe will be based on applicant availability and housing availability.

Grant and Partnerships Coordinator

For health justice advocates interested in a remote opportunity to assist with grant writing, fundraising for the work we do, and helping with collaborating with organizations in the US and Tijuana.

Resident Elective

For medical students interested in a 2-to-4 week resident rotation for internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, emergency medicine or OB-GYN. Spanish proficiency or an independent plan for translation services is required.
